Climate Impact And Interventions In Mountains

Mountain Voice TV: Mr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava of Oxfam South Asia Regional centre talks about. To design climate adaptation related interventions one needs to first understand various kinds of natural flows in terms of hydrological, energy, bio-mass, among others in the mountain agriculture. The interventions should go in integrated manner, while mountain people should develop and address issues their own through various such interventions, and take help of outside experts in case it’s beyond their capacities.


Started in year 2010, ‘Climate Himalaya’ initiative has been working on Mountains and Climate linked issues in the Himalayan region of South Asia. In the last five years this knowledge sharing portal has become one of the important references for the governments, research institutions, civil society groups and international agencies, those have work and interest in the Himalayas. The Climate Himalaya team innovates on knowledge sharing, capacity building and climatic adaptation aspects in its focus countries like Bhutan, India, Nepal and Pakistan.
